MG53 in CA?

Is there anyway a MG53 semi-build, legal by federal law, and belt fed, is legal in California?

  Since it has a pistol grip and a detachable feed device (in this case a belt) you are just out of luck. Do away with the pistol grip or figure out a way that it can never accept a detachable feed device or any fixed feed device holding more than ten rounds you might be on to something.

  If you could build one that requires a "tool" to remove the belt segments, it could be done, but you would be limited to 10rd segments.
