1911 .22lr

any one shot the new puma 22 1911 or the chippa 1911? being made by same company suspect they are the same. how well do they shot/hold up ect.. was looking at the target model by chippa. hate to spend the money if they wont hold up.

    I am hoping for the All Steel model to be made Until then I will continue to shoot a Kart on a Colt Frame. I like steel Guns.

    Do a topic search on the Chippa (not sure if it's the correct spelling?). It's been discussed a number of times on this forum.

    Be advised though it's mostly made of potmetal, you pretty much get what you pay for if you buy one. IMHO you will be ahead of the game if your looking for a descent .22 to go with a Browning or a Ruger.

    far be it for me to disagree with the experts (i'm being truthful) but there is another angle here.
    yeah, they may not be all steel, but, hell, they're only shooting 22"s!! the "chippa" ( i think there's actually an "i" in there somewhere) has gotten decent reviews and is a good looking gum. i've been tempted to get one to use for tactical draw/shoot practice because it would be much cheaper than my 45.
    just my opinion, but, for what they are, i don't see any problems with them.

    Seems to be hit & miss in regards to being a "jam monster". I bought one last Nov. Mines been a jam-o-matic. But gets better slowly the more I shoot it. And does better w/hotter ammo such as CCI Mini Mags than w/bulk type ammo. But alot of people have reported that theirs shot like a sewing machine right out of the box.
    I'll say this. It looks/feels like a 1911, which gives it certain "cool factor". But recently a well known sporting good store has been selling the Browning Buckmark for about the same price. IMO the Browning is BY FAR the better pistol. So IMO the choice kinda comes down to if you want a .22LR 1911 clone. Or if you want a good pistol.
    I personally think the Chiappa is overpriced and banks more on the 1911 appeal than on quality. Kind of like paying a Ruger Single Six price for a Heritage SA. Prices have been coming down on them recently. I paid $300 for mine. Been hearing of them going in the $250. range lately. IMO about $200. would be a fair deal.
    In regard to the "Gunblast" review. I was heavily influenced by this review when I bought mine. Won't make that mistake again. Notice he only shows shooting it rapid fire. Mine shot good rapid fire as well. But jammed like crazy whenever I shot slow aimed fire. I think that guy omitted flaws he knew about. Wonder if he got paid?
