    This could also be the trigger group. Try holding the trigger back or push it forward . I used to Clean a bunch of these target rifles of many brands for an OLD Time Shooter when he became to old to do it but wanted to maintain HIS old match guns.

    FWIW the bore on a 22 match rifle seldom needs cleaned. It takes several hundred rounds to re-season the bore after cleaning. I would shoot an entire season of NRA smallbore competition, including practice without cleaning the bore of my Anschutz 1413.

    Only when groups open up by 25% is my rule for rimfire rifles.

    After many hundreds even thousands of rounds. Use a soft brush to keep the chamber clean and leave the bore alone. I cleaned mine about once a season, sometimes not.

    What Bruce said, cleaning the barrel on a rimfire target rifle is greatly overated. will cause accuracy problems.
