A few new guns
I just picked up a couple interesting guns and after looking around on the net and books I already have I have found nothing about them. The price was right so I already bought them.
Any info on the following would be great:
JC Higgins Model 20. I found a lot about the gun, but this one only has a 19" bbl. Old police shotgun maybe?
The possible prize or possibly altered gun is an Enfield in beautiful condition, it is a number 1 MKIII, british made rifle, but the curiousity is the brass American eagle in the butt stock where the small metal disc typically is. It has the number 72 stamped in the stock to the right of the brass eagle.
I also picked up a beautiful Garand and Reminton Matchmaster in the deal, just need a mag for the 22.

I would assume the barrel has been cut post-factory.
Midway list some magazines for a Remington 513.0 -
Tell us more about the M1. 0 -
The M1 is a Springfield Armory, with a serial number on the receiver of 3387*** which I researched a little and found it was manufactured during WWII. The wood is beautiful, the metal shows very little wear and the bore is clean. I've got another already but this one was too nice to pass up for the price.
I'm really curious about the Enfield though. The JC Higgins, if the bbl was cut the smith did a beautiful job, the gun has definitely been used but aside from only about 50% of the bluing remaining it's been well maintained.
Thanks for the heads up on the mag, I saw one on gpc and will compare prices prior to purchase. After looking at the pic, I may actually have one or two laying around the basement.0 -
You very well may already have a magazine, I'm thinking the 513 shares them with 3 or 4 other models. 0 -
You don't have to be such a tease... You could have posted some pictures

The carbine was part of the deal too even though I didn't really want it. Not bad in my opinion for less than a G note for the lot.
OK, I followed directions and used my image hosting but the pics aren't showing up?0 -

Nice find, JP146. By the way that 513T is the gun I learned how to shoot with back in the 60's. And still today if the SHTF, it is THE gun I
would reach for if I could get only one. Bob0 -
That's a mighty nice Garand. 0
