P-14, Mod.1917, Rem. Mod. 30
P-14 Enfield - GB (.303 British)
Model 1917 - USA
Remington Model 30 - (civilian)
vs. Model 98
Comparing the actions, are the three on top, each completely identical to one another?
IF, you were choosing between one of the three on top VS. a comparable Model 98 action, which would you use to build your rig? Why so?

a lot depends on WHAT you want to build. the m-30 would be my 1st choice for a magnum rebuild (commercial quality), followed closely by the p-14, and then 3rd, the 1917)......for a STANDARD cal. I'd use a good m-98 (trimmer, lighter action, more 'goodies' available). 0 -
The three actions you list are of the same basic mechanical design, but they differ in detail.
Given a large budget, I would have a 1917 remodeled to look like the Remington Model 720.0 -

I can understand that notion for sure. At first glance, one might not even see the family resemblances betwee the M-720 and each of the others. Your idea sounds good for any major revamp. That would seem to be a good idea.
They all seem sturdy and resilient. Trimmed and slimmed down, any of them would be more the sport rather than military silhouette, quite neat.
When I am checking into various firearms now ... I have a tough time not recalling nice offers made to me as a youth ... that I now realize were not nice offers. They were exceedingly thoughtful and generous offers made by knowledgeable sportsmen.
