Travel Texas to Mississippi

Do yall know if it is OK to take a Gun on Vacation ( actually Im taking my wife but want to take some protection as well) when I travel from Texas and drive to Mississpi? I dont have a concealed license.

  It is legal to carry a loaded weapon in a vehicle in the state of Louisiana. Considered an extension of your domicile. I carry in Miss. and Texas. Don't really care about any State Laws. I believe in the true intent of my right to self preservation at all times and anywhere I happen to be.[;)]
