I'd vote for keeping the 870, my experience with hunting birds with a .410 you need a repeater, two shots won't be enough, pull the plug on the 870, keep the mag full and keep shooting, and I hope you have a good retriever. 0 -
The side-by-side is a classic that is in high demand among 410 aficionados while the Remington can be replaced whenever a person has a mind to. I have hunted both pheasants and quail with 410s for over sixty years and have seldom seen the time when a third shot presented itself on the flush under the limitations of the gun I was using. I own a Stevens 410 double that I bought for fifty bucks in 1957 that quite a few people that I know would gladly go out and buy a new 870 and trade it to me for my gun. 0 -
