Help Identify, What is it?

Picked this up at the auction last weekend and just getting around to cleaning and looking it over and cannot find any identification other than made in Italy & .22 short, long or long rifle.

    If it is Made in ITALY it is a later made COPY of a MOSSBURG BROWNIE,

    rotating Firing pin fires one barrel at a time with Long /Heavy trigger pull change out firing pin for hand made one as a 12 year old PISTOL-SMITH and all 4 go off at same time [:D]Group size is YUCK and gun come unlatched [V][:(!][:(]. when back to original firing pin. [:I]

    Italian replica of a Mossberg Brownie. It would probably date to the mid/late 60's time frame before GCA 68 stopped importation. The Italian Roman Numeral proof date would probably be between XX-XXIV.

    That is one of the EIG Model 22X4,a 4-Shot .22 Derringer and a copy of Mossberg "Brownie". Those pistols were made by Tanfoglio Guiseppe Fabbrica d"Armi in Brescia, Italy and distributed by EIG based out of Los Angeles, CA. All of the examples I've seen have dates from the early to middle 1960s.

    Lucky you went back to the original FP. As far as the feds are concerned, the technical definition of a machine gun is that it will fire multiple shots with one pull of the trigger. You would have been a real surprised "12 year old Pistol-Smith" if the JBT's had given you a 6AM wake-up call.

    Hello Rufe-Snow That would be small potatoes To what I did Growing up I had the materials to make Black Powder in LARGE quantities also some round long "STICK's " used to Blow stumps. . Made a number of cannons from 3/4 inch Ball Bearing bore up to Golf Ball. Made 12Ga. shotgun from Galv. water pipe. ETC . I am VERY lucky to be alive much less all my fingers and both Eyes I had FREE use of any & all things from large Country farm supply store.No inventory control just when shelve got low time to reorder. Today I would be in jail for 100 years + We never hurt anyone we did a bunch of strange experiments . First Car I ever bought 4 of use went together at 13 and used it to roll off the dirt side of a 20 foot tall new Dirt dam Taking turns on who drove until a sledge hammer would not beat the top up high enough for us to get back in and see out the front. If I remember it made 7 trips. Drug it off into the woods with tractor.

    I agree, it is a copy of a Mossberg Brownie, Oliver Mossberg's first gun, I believe. Perry Shooter you could write my biography. The good Lord smiled on me more than once. My friend Jake & I stopped a train once. We were scared stiff that another train would run into it. I think we were 15 if memory serves. Heck, we made gun barrels on the shop class school lathes. Wearing glasses at 13 saved my eye.[:0] Thanks for the memories. Eddie
