Sig P226 25th Anniversary Model

There are a few of these on GB going for as little as $1090. As much as I hate the idea of a pistol I can't shoot, this seems like a good buy that will go up in value.
What are your thoughts on this as an investment? Only 226 made.

Why couldn't you shoot it?
If you didn't mind reducing its collector's value, that is. [;)]
While I think this gun probably would go up in value over time, I question whether or not a gun specifically made to be "collectible" will appreciate more than many other guns.
IE, if you're looking for an investment-grade gun, you can probably find something more likely to appreciate for your $1000.0 -
Hmmm, price is right,,pretty thing,,,,but specials seldom have any enhanced value. Look at he Colt Series Frontier Scout Coms. They bring about he same as the shooters.....Who knows though,,,that thing looks good,,and IF I knew for sure about anything, I would have got a McDonalds franchise in the 70's. 0 -
Very poor investment given Sig-Sauer previous offerings. Back in 1985 Sig-Sauer sold a dolled up P-226 called the Jubilee, which was supposed to commemorate SIGs 100 year anniversary, for something like two grand. Today you'd be lucky to get $1500 for one of them and I've seen them sell for less than that. There were also a coupe of other P-220 special editions for law enforcement and the NRA and that have failed to attract any collector interest on the resale market. I highly doubt that you'll even get your money back out of that P-225, much less make any sort of useful profit. 0
