    No way of legally getting it into the States. As far as the feds are concerned if it was made originally as a selective fire firearm it is contraband.

    I believe that it can be imported into the US.

    However, you would first have to completely cut through the receiver in 3 specific places with a cutting torch. Our government's definition of "deactivated" is a little more strict than the British government's.

    Sorry mond but in this country that is still considered to be a live machine gun. I'm not sure what rules you folks have in the UK but here in this country if the receiver is still in one piece (or as Neal said: Less than three pieces) it is a firearm. Back in the late 1940s and up until the early 1960s the US used to allow deactivated machine guns, but that program ended and starting in 1968 anything that was once deactivated had to either be registered as a machine gun or destroyed. Most of the deactivated machine guns that were registered were eventually reactivated after the 1986 ban on the transfer of new production machine guns to private individuals.

    Might even have to cut the barrel up these days, like they did on AK kits.

    here deactivated usually men the barrel has a ball bearin pressed in, or the breach is plugged & welded. other wise they are fully operational. best mond
