    Most definitely. I know lots of people that hunt with 20's. Check out the new Savage 220 bolt gun with the accutrigger. Rifle type accuracy. Awesome gun. But be prepared for all your buddies to call you a "sissy"[;)]

    Both my son's first slug guns were Remington 870's in 20 ga. No problem harvesting Illinois Whitetail. As I get older , I have no doubt that I will make the change to a 20 ga. and I can do it without reservation.

    In the past 30 years I have harvested somewhere around 40 whitetails with a twenty gauge. Never lost a wounded deer. Most went down within 10 yards from where they we hit. I do limit my shots to fewer than 100 yards; most often in the fifty to seventy-five yard range. I use a smooth bore with a modified choke and foster type slugs.
