AK47's Trade Good Deal or Not?

Was considering trading 2 new classic SAM7 Milled Arsenal AK47's for possibly 4 Century/ATM 1960 Soviet milled AK47's or for 2 Century/ATM 1960 Soviet milled AK47's and a Imbel/Israeli heavy barrel, wood stock, bipod FAL 7.62 rifle, good deal or no?

Classic SAM7 Milled Arsenal AK47's are considered quite good however the Century/ATM 1960 Soviet milled AK47's and the Imbel/Israeli heavy barrel, wood stock, bipod FAL 7.62 rifles are also considered quite good from everything I have read from durability, reliability and accuracy...although I am not an expert and would like some advice in this matter.

    One problem is that the Century/ATM 1960 Soviet milled AK47 doesn't seem to have a chrome lined barrel, or does it as the chrome lined barrels are supposedly much easier to clean and are much more resistant to rust and last longer?
    I am not sure is the israeli/imbel heavy barreled FAL has a chrome lined barrel though...

    It will depend on what barrel the kit had made... more info on falfiles.com

    Better look very close if the name Century is on anything. I have seen some good stuff, and junk that was sold to be good.

    If practical you should insist on a comparison shoot. Where you get to try his toys and he get to try yours. If they don't shoot as they should then the trade is a bad idea no matter what. And if the guy you are trading with won't shoot with you at your local range then I be suspisious right there. The Imbel/Israeli Fal is only as good as the smith who put it together as it is most likely a built kit and not a wholely imported gun. Your new Aresenal AKs are about as good as AKs get, IMO, and one might well be a good trade just for the Fal if it shoots and feeds well and you don't already have a Fal...

    Though The four 1960s seems like the better deal $ wise if the rifles have bright bores. check all with a bore light before you trade.

    Me personally, most of the firearms that I've seen from Century I seem to find some issue promptly. Although having a early skilled trades background very early in life, inspection for me comes as fast as a glance. Somethings require a closer look. If you don't know how their made or anything about quality manufacturing practices and are going on blind faith I personally would keep what I have. Occasionally I find an "acceptable AK" at a store but by then it seems other customers who have stopped what they were doing wait for me to put it down after listening to what my comments in the hopes of getting it after I leave. Then an employee there acts like a customer wants it over the phone & their on their way to pressure a sale. If I don't put it down for 5 minutes after an inspection I got to buy it. "Acceptable" stuff does come out of Century. If you want to shoot it, not collect it than turn the thing upside-down to see the direction of the barrel to frame because lots of AKs simply shoot too far off to use the sights. Your choice.

    From what I have gathered from CAI and some other websites in the know as it were...CAI Century Arms International isn't building them they are importing them as they do most firearms that come in, being one of the largest firearms importers apparently they were contracted out to be built by About Time Machining.
    And they do not all even seem to all be Polish AK47's anyway and seems to just be how CAI labeled them as several do seem to be Polish KBK GN 60's with the butt-stock rubber pad brackets and the gas cutoff blocks and such; however some seem to be Russian? with different furniture and these do not appear to be replicas but retro fitted new old stock AK47's with new receivers.

    Hope they don't get recalled or anything by BATF since there seems to be some talk of some potential violations with these builds but its probably just the rumor mill or something, as that would be a real fiasco.
