Para Ordnance 10-45
Why was the 10-45 discontinued? Has anyone had problems with them?

The 10-45 is the short barreled, short gripped version, right? I have one and got it new at a great price. Id'guess that Para dropped it because it was selling slow (kind of plain looking) or it might have taken sales away from the Warthog, the Warthog looks to me nothing more than a spiffed up 10-45. So I don't think it was a performance issue, more of a business - just my guess. 0 -
I've shot one. . .once, and it ran fine, though recoil was (as you might imagine) stout.
I'd imagine that the gun is prone to stove-piping if you have anything less than a rock-solid grip.
Why discontinued? Probably because the "Warthog" is basically the same thing, only with a few upgrades over the older P10-45 (ie Novak-like sights, upswept beavertail, better extractor, and different slide grooves) plus a catchier name.
Don't discount the effect of marketing. Taurus didn't sell a lot of its 45LC/.410 revolver either until some marketing genius decided to call it "The Judge".

Thanks for the replies, I bought it and think it's a good shooter. I didn't think the recoil was that bad, but you are right about the firm grip, it jammed when I relaxed my grip. It's a nice carry pistol with the Pierce grip and extensions. 0
