Star Reloader
Recently Inherited a Star Progressive re loader from my late grandparents estate. I have no experiences with the star or with reloading.
The Machine is missing a handle but as far as i can tell the rest of the machine is there, but when you pull the handle (a screw driver)the machine does not rotate
if anyone out there has experience with the star, any help would be appreciated. looking to get it up and operational, AND NOT LOOKING TO SELL IT

Hello I have been using Star reloaders for 35 + years . The original and all factory produced loaders DID NOT ROTATE when you worked the handle. Nor did they come with a case feeder or ejector . However there were many after market accessories sold to enhance the factory unit the most popular was the Brewster indexer , Hulme Case Feeder, Freeloader case turner and many more items like adjustable powder bars and powder bars with inserts. I currently own 5 star machines and Have bought and sold 30 plus units in the past 20 years. I purchase from retiring Buss-Eye shooters and sell install and mentor new shooters in their use of a star . I guess you can tell from my comments That I think the star is Hands Down the Best pistol reloader ever designed. IMHO if you are a high volume pistol shooter you need a progressive press unless you have loads of free time nothing else come close to a star. just double click on my name if you want to send me an Email with any ?. Or if you want some picture of basic unit or those with a full line of accessories. I don't think I am breaking any Gunbroker rules but there are two collector user support groups for the Star. 0 -
found out from www.starReloaders.com that i do not have a star progressive re-loader. what I have is a star universal re-loader set up with 38spl dies.
I am wondering were i would go to get a set up for .45acp, as that is all I really shoot
I am in the process of cleaning it up now, all that i can see that is missing is the primer following rod and the cap for the powder mag
This is what it Looks like now. still cleaning it up.
Thanks for the info Perry and i will be sure to hit you up with any Qs that i may have as I progress0 -
