Thinking of mounting a 15x Ultra varmint Unertl on a savage 10fp. Opinions Please. I would like a good 6-8 hundred yard varmint gun. Good combo?

  Great scope, I'd say it's a little too cumbersome for the task you intend. Just my two bit worth.

  The Unertl Glass is second to none when it comes to resolution However IMHO a fixed power scope MAY not be the best choice for varied distance hunting . 15X might not be enough for a Ground-Hog at 800 yards but too much for this same target at 50 yards.
