seems to be a eig model e8 made in germany 8 shot 22 lr. 4" barrell

The pistol was produced by Herbet Scimidt, a well known manufacturer of inexpensive handguns. Scimidt would produce the same handgun for dozens of wholesalers, brand then with the wholesaler's name and then they would peddle the pistols through catalog and mail order sales. EIG was just one of many such firms selling these handguns. These pistols are very basic shooters with no collector interest, although new in the box examples are rather difficult to find. 0 -

While photographs may not be necessary for a very few, they do provide an easy way to identify particular models of firearms for the members who don't know what this revolver looks like.
It also forces the Original Poster to examine his or her firearm more closely, oftentimes leading them to see details that were missed in the original assessment. This is always a plus for everyone.
That's why this forum exists, to add to the knowledge base of all of the general members to the best of our ability. Adding photographs is a simple process and greatly improves the breadth of our knowledge. Sidestepping this inclusion shortcuts the best answers.

I agree! A picture may be worth a thousand words but sometimes a thousand words are not needed.0
