Ted Williams 300 12 ga.
This magazine tube only allows two shells. Can I drill out the dimples in the tube to allow more shells or will the spring be too weak to feed properly?

You should be fine taking the dimples out. The spring will actually compress with higher pressure when more shells are placed in the mag tube. 0 -
well.........according to the cross ref. this is the same as a win. 1400, the front part of the magazine tube houses the gas system so no, you can't do this. 0 -
Thanks. The tube has two different spring systems, one on each side of the retaining dimples. I think if drilled, the gun would be useless. 0 -

In that case, this is a whole differnet problem then. I have a Rem Sportsman 48 with the dimpled mag tube but it is worn enough that 5 shells load in with no problem. I believe you are stuck at the 3 shell limit.0 -
You could try to peen the dimples out with a mandrel like dent removal.tks hedge[:D] 0
