nikon or redfield?
hello all, trying to decide between the Nikon prostaff and Redfield revolution riflecopes, they are in the same price range. the prostaff has been around for a while and is proven reliable but the redfield revolution just came out. your thoughts?

The Nikon Prostaff is NOT reliable, or proven so. I have personally seen 3 of them fail on muzzleloaders, and muzzleloaders have a gentle recoil compared to some high powered rifles.
The Redfield is now being made under leupold's roof, from what I understand. I am not sure how much is made there or if it is assembled there, or the name brand stickers are just put on there.
Try Nikon Buckmaster, Burris Fullfield II, Sightron SII, and leupold VX-II are the more reliable entry level scopes.

Someone a while ago posted pictures with "made in China" on the box. Not that the Nikon is made here either.0
