I took my FM(Argetina) to Cylinder and Slide Shop in Nebraska(they used to be a top smith on the HiPower platform-maybe still are) for a little slick up and dovetailed sights. Their opinion of the FM was quite good "in most cases". I should have bought another, a Chas Daly, a couple of years ago when they were on sale for $280-but well, that's hindsight. If you're going to do a lot of mods, there are some FM's coming from South America in good used condition that might work for you. The guy at C&S indicated he could quickly tell if an individual gun was worth working on so as not to waste time and money on a junker or soft one.

The FM Dective model I had was a very well made HP. It ran with everything I put through it. All the parts would interchange with any of the three Brownings I have.
Have not had any of thw two mentioned.
I would not bother with any that would interchange parts with Brownings.
    But that's only my opinion.

I have a Browning, an FEG and the Argentine FM. All parts interchange, I use the same 17 round magazines in all three and the accuracy of all three is great. I did replace the barrel in the Browning, it cracked in 1998.
