513-T rem.globe front sight
i just got a rem.mod.513-T target .22 rifle,the reciever is drilled and tapped for a redfield 75 peep sight,but the front sight is a plain open sight that is screw mounted.
how would i install a globe target sight on this barell,does anyone make a screw mounted globe target sight that will adapt to this rifle?
or will it have to be dove tailed,please help me out on this issue.

To put a Redfield globe on it, you will have to have a dovetail cut.
www.odcmp.com has a olympic globe for $29+shipping. There is no picture to see how it mounts, but go to the web site amd ask.0 -
THE REDFIELD GLOBE MOUNTS ON A BASE THAT HAS A REVERSE DOVETAIL (LENGHT WISE TO THE BARREL). YOU CAN ALSO GET A SCREW MOUNTED BASE FOR THE FRONT SIGHT (ONE FOR A MARLIN M-39 COMES TO MIND) THAT WILL TAKE A STANDARD DOVETAILED SIGHT (LYMAN M-77). 0 -
Both of mine are dovetailed for the Redfield #68 Globe like this: 
This is the Lyman 77H reverse dovetail quick detach like the Winchester 52 used.
I can't see anyway around not having a dovetail cut. You might try calling Garry Fellers and ask what he might have.

Contact Mr. Fellers; he likes to work with written correspondence because his inventory is so vast he can't recall it all over the phone. I was working with him on the same situation when I found the base and a sight on e-bay from a guy selling off accessories from a disbanded junior rifle team. I believe item #43-381 (http://www.garryfellers.com/) is what you need. The base is long, with two locations to place the sight, and the holes are on 1.150" centers to attach in place of the original sight. It accepts a globe type sight such as the Redfield 60 series. There is a machine shop that specializes in making these type(not especially this one) bases at a very reasonable price and might make you one. Post an e-mail and I'll send you their web address. 0 -

+1.... This is what my Jr. rifle team did during the 70's. Don't cut a dove tail. Use the bolt on long mount as posted above. Bob0 -
Before doing anything else, unscrew the existing front sight; SOMETIMES there is a dovetail slot under it! 0
