Savage 10 FCP-K
Can anyone explain the difference between a Savage 10 FCP-K and A Savage 10 FCP if there is any??? I know the 10 FLCP is a left-handed model but I don't have a clue what the "K" indicates and see no visible, physical differences in the pictures. After viewing the Savage web site I was most interested in the 10FCP-K. It doesn't appear to be in stock or readily available by order anywhere locally and the only listings I find here on GB are for the 10 FCP (no K) and I'd like to know if there are any differences and what they may be.

The 10-FCP-K has the Savage Accustock. The 10-FLCP as you noted is left hand. The other 10-FCP have either a McMillan stock or H-S Precision stock.
If you look at the pics on the Savage website you can see the difference in the stocks.
I forgot. I believe the K also has a muzzle brake.0 -

Thanks for your response. It wasn't/isn't that obvious to me. My question was about the "K" in the listing.
I must admit the "Shape" of the stock isn't my primary concern. The 10 FC is less expensive but it has a "Free-floating" barrel. I'm looking for a model with a fully bedded barrel. The Accu-stock according to Savage, is such, as are the listings for all the others in the "LE" line.
The 10 FCP-K, as you noted, has the Accu-stock which, according to two local gun shop owners, is indeed worth the extra expense over the 10 FC with it's free-floating barrel. They just have no supplier with one in stock. There is one 10 FCP listed on GB, the write-up says it has the Accu-stock, it looks identical to the Savage web site listing and has the same Savage "SKU" Number listed on the picture of the box. There's just no "K" anywhere????
I may be mistaken but I thought the H-S Precision stock was an after market up-grade (available through Savage at considerable additional cost). It's apparent when you order one with a McMillan stock, it's listed (and priced) that way and has a physically different configuration. I'm not so sure about the Accu-Stock vs. Precision and/or if the additional expense is cost effective.
AND I still don't know the significance of the "K" as listed on the Savage site and the listing I'm watching, which, apparently has the same Savage "SKU" number.
NOTE: I prepared the above last night. This is my updated and edited response to my own comment.
I called Savage Arms and was told that the "K" indicates "Muzzle Brake". It is only manufactured in that configuration now (with a "Fixed" Muzzle brake) and the one I'm watching, listed as a 10 FCP is in fact the same model, in ALL respects, but labeled without the "K".
The 10 FCP HS Precision, SKU- 18139, has the HS Precision Stock, no muzzle brake and lists for $231 Dollars more. I think an Accu-stock would serve my purpose.0 -
