LOKO383...late production Walther, could have some czech parts, 130k produced that year. Would be nice to know the waffen marks that you don't mention...how do you know that all of them are not German proofs? Would be nice to know, w/o photos (nice truck, by the way) if all the numbers match? Does it have bakelite or the "faux wood grips" that you mention. With wood grips, it might be a "workbench" putogether. Just hard to know from what you are telling us. And your "90% condition" could be my 70% and that impacts on value. Without seeing it, could be $350-500+.

LOKO383.....thanks for the photos. I think my poor eyes see the Waffenmark E/359 twice on the slide which would be correct for your ac 44. But what is that on the bakelite grips...fingernail polish? Looks like someone has tried to mottle them up kinda like the correct grips on a PPk. If it was mine, I would make it correct and get a set of correct black ac 44 P38 grips. From what I see, I would agree with you (and not your bro in law) with your 90% or so. You might think about getting a correct holster (44 date would be nice) as in today's market they are a bit cheaper than usual ($100 or so), change the grips to make it correct, and then you would have a very nice rig that a collector might be interested in and significantly increase the value to $800-1000+. Good luck!

The grip actually says P38 inside them ,they fit poorly..the "woodgrain"..look is embedded in them..probably after market?..actually it wont matter now..I sold it today for 650.00..thanks Gary and Nambu for the help..Ive learned alot about p38s since trading for this one..and will know what and where to look next time around..thanks again Gentlemen...Loko [;)]
