Possible Ortiges 25 pistol. Why dont you tack a note to the pole and give it back to its owner?.

If the range has an RO, leave it with him in the lost & found. Iam sure the owner would like to have it back.

If there is no RO, leave a note to contact you with an accurate description and give it back to the guy who lost it.

    John,

Thanks for the fast reply. I've seen the Ortgies mags, but this one has a rolled lip for the baseplate; the others I've seen didn't. Also, the follower is stamped deeply, rather than the flat, L-shaped one in the Ortgies. The range is in a small shop, and the owner pretty much knows who shoots what, but hadn't a clue about this either. He knows the Ortgies but hadn't seen one in years.

The quest continues...and I keep learning, which is half the fun!

It looks identical to the one from my astra cub .25. The only thing I see that might be different is the feed lips. Mine are symmetrical and those look to be broke or worn on one side. Every thing else is the same. Holes are in the same place it is plated or stainless just like that one. If it has a square notch about 1/4 inch from the bottom on the right side I bet it is from an astra.

It is a FIE Titan for the GT 27/28 series 25 Caliber magazine.

The rear part of the upper left side is the telltale on this magazine. Has a slight cutaway.

    AMT clone.
That's the first thing that popped into my head.

Left my old Smith 24 at the range once. Someone turned it in.
One of the nice things about this fraternity.

I've been looking for the matching gun for six months, after having left the mag with the owner of the range for over a year, to no avail. He has a lost and found, but no one came forward to claim it (which was just a matter of producing a matching gun to claim ownership).

That's why I figured it was something perhaps rarer than the Colt/AMT/FIE guns. He gave it back to me six months ago when he dumped the lost and found, having had my phone number attached to it.

So far it seems to be closest to the Colt Junior in .25, from what I've found on the internet. If I can find one of those I'll have to see if it fits.

    Thanks for all the suggestions.
