Remington Model 12 semi-auto rifle

The slide does not want to
stay all the way in the closed
position. It seems to always
move just a little.
Can someone tell/show me how
to repair this?

  The Remington model 12 series was slide action, also called a pump action. There may be a build up of powder fouling, dried grease, etc. in the mechanism that keeps it from going all the way closed and locked. Referred to as "going into battery". A thorough cleaning might help.

  just to note these also were prone to the bolt locking lug breaking off, a new bolt is the only fix for this.
