Compact 9mm non-Polymer

Hello all,
I'm sure that this has been touched on before but i cant find it in the search.
My wife is looking at picking up a compact carry pistol in 9mm. Right now she has a Springfield Armory Ultra-Compact 1911 in .45acp and loves it but is unsure of the recoil and would like something similar to it. We have looked at polymer pistols and she doesn't like the way they fit her hand. We are looking for any suggestions for a 9mm, full metal, semi auto pistol, preferably a 1911 or similar.

    Without knowing the price range, Kimber makes a nice 9mm 1911. Here is a link to one of many on the auction side.

    if she loves the ultra compact 45 she'll really love the emp 9. they had a bad rep initially and still can be finicky about ammo, but it's one of my favorite carry guns. my son in law likes his kimber a lot, but he's always asking to shoot my emp.[8D]

    A few alternatives just off the top of my head:
    Kahr Arms K9
    CZ 75 RAMI

    Both are 9mm, metal frames, sub-compact, single stack, slim profile.

    Look into the Walther PPS, its a poly framed gun, but ultra slim, and has interchangeable backstraps so you can custom fit it to her hand.

    If an *all steel* design appeals to you (and the weight with it) you may want to look for a firestar... something else to look at would be the bersa offerings

    Smith&Wesson 3913 is worth a look.

    Smith 3913, I believe is alloy frame (not technically "all steel"), but its a great offering, arguably the best of the numbered Smith auto series.

    CZ RAMI is a great design though (like all the all-steel guns) its not all that light.

    Can't argue with a SIG 239.

    Walther PPS is a great gun, but its polymer. (Its basically a single stack version of the P99 caompact).

    I'd say first decide on a trigger/action type.

    If you want a single-stack/single-action/1911-like gun, that goes in one direction.

    If you want a more usual SA/DA compact 9mm service gun that goes in a different direction.

    I'd say if she doesn't like the recoil of the mini-1911, then you should probably stay away from the super-light super compact 9mms like the Rohrbaugh, Kel-Tec PF9, and Kahr.

    if she like the 1911 pattern sometimes you can pick up a star b m pretty reasonable
