    Ruger has chambered a lot of calibers in their model 77, much to their credit, but I can't say I can recall if one was made in the .284 Win.

    I always said that was a fantastic round for pushing heavy pills, with that natural high 7mm BC, out strong. Too bad Winchester didn't have the foresight to use the knowledge they already had to throat the chambers long for that.

    Yeah the Ruger 77 was available in 284, I had one of the flat bolt 77's for awhile, I bought it from a guy in Anchorage he said it was his favorite rifle for caribou hunting. I always think of the 284 as the original short magnum along with remingtons 6.5 and 350.
