30-30 dies can be used. Watch that you don't set back the shoulder any more than you have to.

They are a group B or C die and most dealers don't carry them . You will find them on Redding & RCBS web sites . The 30-30 and the .30 Rem are two very different animals !

The 30-30 and 30 Rem have identical performance and case capacity - and can even interchange load data. But NOT dies or brass. Case SHAPE is different.

Because it is an obsolete round, finding dies and brass may be a bit difficult. If you find brass, buy all you can as that may be your lifetime supply. Search any and all online auction sites as well as catalog suppliers. Old gunshops often have "shelf orphans" in the back room, so ask.

I have RCBS dies. I say don't use 30-30 dies but some of the old Lee dies have 30-30, 30 Rem. on the label. I load a 170gr FN, 150gr RN, 155gr. LFN/GC and the 160gr. Hornady FTX without under size trimming the case. You can use loading data from the 30-30 but, my model 8 likes the speeds up on the charts. I load all the bullets to go around 2200 fps.
