Is this a good deal

I have the chance to purchase a 2 year old never fired H&K P30 9mm for $600. Is this a good deal. I have checked over on the auction side and all are listed higher than $600 put no one is bidding.

    This will give you a good idea if what you seek is worth the trouble. $600 isn't a bad price if it's in good shape. Nice gun too[;)]

    I did the "smart search" for "completed auctions". I should have thought of that first. After checking and reading many reviews I am buying that gun. Thank you guys for your help.

    IMHO, that's a good buy ... where I live new ones are going for $850.

    It seems the ones here have gone from $700-$800+

    So, I would say value wise it sounds like a good deal.

    Personally, I've never used one and I'm not that much of a fan of the 9mm. If I was to pay that kind of money, I might be looking for a good used 1911. Or a Glock or Sig. H&k has a high dollar reputation. I think they are good but not always so good they are twice the price of anything else in it's class.

    But, if you gotta have one... You'd be getting a good deal.

    I'd say the HKs are not EVER so good, that they are worth 2x the other guns in their class, but whatever. . .some people are happy to pay more just because they want that status symbol or have so much money they don't care.

    But at $600, you're in the ballpark of other similar polymer frame guns, and it is a good price for this particular gun. If you like the trigger and the way it feels, go for it.

    That first bit is key.

    A quick look at the specs shows that the P30 can come with any one of half a dozen different trigger options: DA/SA, DA-SA with a heavy pull, heavy DA-only, etc, and you might not like all of them. I'd say make sure you like the trigger pull before you commit here.

    Switching it to a different one afterwards is probably possible, though it won't necessarily be cheap.

    Well I have the USP V1 in .45 ACP and have been extremely happy with it that is why I was looking for a 9mm USP when I came across the P30 it has better ergonomics and a higher capacity.

    Not to sound snobbish, but if you have never shot a MK 23, and get the chance, do so. The USP Tactical, and Tactical compact too...

    I am a 1911 fan(well, actually a fan of just about any quality piece, revolver or auto...hehehehe), but like these very well too.
