I had one of the combination units which was exactly as you described; plastic box, two slides, two mags, 9mm and 40 S&W and marked Combi if I remember correctly. Not sure when they were made, bought mine at a gun show in Dallas around 2000. Was never able to find much information on it and have never seen another one. Kept it as a curiosity until a year or two ago when I finally traded it for a Colt Series 70 to a guy who was more curious than I was. Never did get around to shooting it.

Beretta, according to their website, does not provide "historical information", but a nice gentleman from the customer service line gave me some basic info about my SN weapon and says he will do some research on the Combo Pack 92/ 96 and email me what he finds.

    I'll let ya'll know.

I've had mine for a while and have never taken it to the range. It's in great shape. I would also like to know if I got a good deal on mine, but have no source of information for it. Please keep us posted on new information that is turned up.

Forgot about this thread, but did a little more research recently. Seems these were some kind of special order from one of Beretta's largest distributor's at the time. They were not a limited production thing from Beretta itself.

If you check the Serial numbers on Beretta's website (or call them) they typically show up as either the 92 or 96, but says nothing about a "combo pack"

Beretta reps did tell me that there were "something like 2000 to 2500" made for that order.

here ya go. The grips are not what came with the kit, the ones that came with it are the factory plastic 92 grips. Because it was made during the ban years, these kits came with one 10 round 40 and one 10 round 9mm. The mags in the kit right now are hi-cap 9mm, as I took it to the range not too long ago.

Oh, and not sure of the significance, but all these kits shipped with the shorter 119mm barrels instead of the usual 125mm 92FS barrels.
