Fire some of the recently made 8mm made in Portugal, or other hotly loaded, ( Turkish ), military surplus ammo. See if you get the same carbon blow by markings. U.S. made 8mm commercial is known to be under loaded. If your shooting handloads it might be the same. If the chamber is slightly over sized, and the pressure isn't sufficient to expand the brass to seal the neck, carbon blow by will be caused. 0 -

I have a 6mm-284 that is notorious for that if I'm not loading it hot enough. Or, with fast enough powder.
If what you're shooting is American made 8mm that isn't uncommon.0
