Winchester 74 22lr semi-auto-HELP
Worked great, but firing pin started turning after a few shots. Cocking knotch turns to bottom and sear will not cock. Remove bolt and turn firing pin to correct position and will fire again untill firing pin turns again. Any thought on how to prevent firing pin from turning appreciated.

You need a gunsmith. 74's can be a bit of a pain when the mechanics don't work correctly. 0 -
Firing pin is broken. Happened to mine fifty years ago. New firiing pin repaired it. 0 -
Thanks Ned. I though that was the problem. I did not want to take the bolt and plug apart until I had a good idea of the problem. 0
