where do you get 32 40 Ammo? I just purchases a 94 carbine and want to shoot it. I see Ten X sells it and PCI. Any other ideas. I also see that several guys load it and sell as well.

Any thoughts

    Cablas carries 10X. Old Western Scrounger also carries 32-40.

    Try Ray Giles. He has some Imperial HV .32-40 ammo that is the best available.

    If I was going to buy some stuff to reload what dies should I buy. I havent reloaded before. There are some RCBS on E Bay now is that good or will I be putting the Cart before the horse since I dont have a press yet?

    If you can get a deal on the dies now and know you will be reloading, I would say buy them and then save up or look for a deal on the press, scales, powder measures, etc.

    Is 44.00 a good price? I dont really know what Im looking at. I checked at Mid South and Graff. It looks like they can be bought for that new?

    When reloading, bullets are a bit of a problem with the .32-40. Hornady and Speer both make 170 gr. jacketed .321 dia. bullets (or they did the last I checked) but they are for the .32 Winchester Special and the cannelure in in the wrong place for the .32-40. When crimped into that groove, the cartridges are too long to feed from the 94's magazine. That problem can be overcome but it's a little tricky. Factory loads are a little anemic due to the soft steel used in the barrels of some of the early rifles. The .32-40 is not a cartridge I would advise a guy new to reloading to start with. You would probably be well off to obtain factory cartridges rather than reload--you are probably not going to shoot this carbine a lot. By the way, is this an older carbine or one of the newer ones (like the John Wayne commemorative)?

    Hi...There is also plenty of the Winchester John Wayne commemorative ammo out there for this caliber. It's on the expensive side, but can also be reloaded. Found on the auction side, and at gun shows. Winchester also made unprimed brass for loading your own. BT

    You can make them from 30-30 or 32 spl. cases but they will be a tad short.

    Thanks for the info guys. This is a 94 Carbine made in 1904 without the proof marks.
