CZ 452 with squeeze bore ?

Dear forum members,

I ran across an oddity today and want your feedback. It was a .22cal CZ 452 with a squeeze bore...front 4 or 5 inches of barrel squeezed down. I've checked the CZ website and there is no mention of this option. My gut tells me it's a "bubba" job but I have been wrong before. What am I missing...?

No pics...rifle is not mine....but is for sale locally.

    Is it really a "squeeze bore" (ie decreasing bore caliber) or just a tapered barrel?

    The first thing would be pretty weird.

    The second thing, not so much. . .the CZ 452 "American" has a tapered barrel, though its not tapered at the end, but all along its length.

    You might ask CZ if they every put out any limited runs with partially tapered barrels.

    What caliber is squeezed down to 22.
    It's very interesting if it's really a squeeze bore gun.
    In the '60s I almost joined an R&D company under contract with Winchester. A military project we discussed was a squeeze bore gun.

    Does the bore actually look squeezed down from the inside, or does the last 4-5 inches of barrel look like it is smaller in outside diameter? I have a 452 ZKM that looks loke the last 4-5 inches of the barrel was added on over a turned down barrel, to accommodate the front sight.

    Most of the CZ's that I have (6 Rimfires) have a choked muzzle to a degree. This is the reason most guys use .20 caliber or 17 caliber rods to clean them. I just use a boresnake.
