I've got two questions about my Colt AR-15.

First, the fore-grip is loose or something and makes this rattling noise. Is there anyway to tighten it?

Second, the forward dis-assembly pin on the receiver is a screw? I've never seen this before in my life and Uncle who is a AR-15 guy was astonished by it cause he had never seen it before either. Is it cause I have a Colt AR-15 Sporter, or was is a modification my late Uncle made from whom I inherited the gun from?

    commercial colts have the front screw..pull the delta ring and see what is inside loose

    Most sporters have the front screw. They used both big and small pin uppers. A lot of AR'S forearms rattle a little.

    Another quick question. I can't think of the name of it and hoping y'all can help. It's a bar that screws in on top of the AR-15 so you can mount a scope on it. What's the name of it?

    That double headed screw style pivot pin indicates you have an older AR15. It also indicates the rifle's corresponding upper receiver lug is a non-standard size of .315 rather than the normal .250. This was a design modification done by Colt to preclude the use of M16 components, but they eventually dropped this silliness.

    As stated, a certain degree of looseness of the handguards is expected. You don't state what type of handguards these are, but if they're the round style you might try switching the upper and lower halves to see if it lessens the looseness.
