No Name Spanish doubles

About once a month I see a no name Spanish double SxS. I don't know anything about them and there is nothing to be found on the internet beyond where they made guns and how long they were in business. Usually they lasted less than a decade before going bust.

Some are very good looking and have engraved sidelocks. I think I could buy them all, I just love the way they look. Since there is no real market for the guns prices are all over the board. $500 to $5000 is the range I have seen.

Can anyone share advice about possible issues, resale value, shootability , repairs , quality, or anything else. To me they are irresistible eye candy. I'm sure I'm going to buy a couple. I'd just like to have a better idea of what I'm getting myself into and how much its going to hurt.

    IMHO, you pretty much answered your own question. There has never been much of a resale market for them. Their cosmetics would be about the only factor affecting their value.

    The one that always got me laughing until they wised up and changed the name, was the "POS"= Pride of Spain.

    There is a web site specifically for Shotgun fanciers called Shotgun World. You might post over their, could be more folks interested in the Spanish doubles.

    Spanish Firearms run from some of the greatest to some of the worst when it comes to quality of workmanship "this can be ascertained" by close inspection" however the same high to lowest quality also applies to the steel used . The softer the steel the easier it is to engrave Etc Etc Etc. Very hard to tell quality of steel in internal parts. BE CAREFUL if you are a shooter not a display person.
