Kimber 1911 9MM
Just purchased a Kimber 1911 Stainless II in 9mm today from a frend of mine. The Gun looks cleanm but it does not fire. Ther firing pin is sunk in the floor plate and I cannot get it it out.

Hello Pistol nut. The firing pin on a 9MM is smaller in diameter where it goes through to hit the primer . Your friend may have tried to replace the original firing pin for some unknown reason and trid to install a 45ACP firing pin . can you get the firing pin out[?] If not then then this Kimber may have the MARK II firing pin block and it may be a little tricky getting the pistol to function or removing / installing parts. 0 -

Lock the slide back and push in on the plunger and see if the pin will pop back into place.0 -
Worst case scenario, send just the slide back to Kimber and have them take a look at it. By the way, I have a Kimber 9mm 1911 and it is one of the most accurate, reliable 9mm's I own! 0 -
I own several Kimbers, so I am familiar with the firing mechanism. The firing pin will not move freely. It is stuck in the slide. When I remove the floorplate and push the button on the bottom of the slide, the pin should come out. This one is stuck. 0 -
