If you take a Mini-14 Ranch Rifle or even the new "Target" one, and scope it with a Nikon 3-9 Buckmaster, and then take an AR-15, and scope it with an identical Nikon 3-9 Buckmaster scope, the AR-15 will shoot the ASS off the Mini-14...Plain and simple!!

How much more info do you need or want on this subject? The Mini was once deemed a more affordable rifle, but not so in today's world.

    I really don't think we need a 14 Vs. 15 IV thread.

A decent ar-15 carbine or rifle will put 5 rounds into about 1" or 1.5", I have a few carbines that will shoot into less then an inch cold bore. a bull barreled ar-15 from DPMS, rock river or olympic arms will put match ammo into a half inch or less. A regular mini will shoot into 3" group or bigger.

Unless you have a mini custom built by a company like Accuracy Sytems, and that will cost you alot more, the AR-15 is the go to get the best accuracy, by that I mean tightest, most consistant shot groupings.

Specialty aftermarket harmonic devices for mini-14 barrels can impove accuracy to a degree, but unless you already have a mini to upgrade, an AR-15 is the easiest way to get accuracy stat.

Here is Accuracy Systems if you want to see thier wares. they also do custom work on Ar-15s, Ar-10s and remington semiautos and bolt actions.
