Looking for photos and drawings
I am gathering drawing photos and whatever other information is available in preparation for carving a replica of a 1861 Remington .44 caliber revolver. I have found many excellent side view photos of the firearm but can find no front or rear views or anything that I can use to scale the photos.
Do you have any suggestions where I could inquire to get more information?
Thanks in advance,
Tom Maier

Reads like you wish to attain the utmost in accuracy in your artwork, so:
Replica revolver. Best if you had a representation 'in hand' when you do your workup.
Below is a link to such of which I speak. Others may/will chime in as to whether there are plastic versions available or drawings. I wouldn't know, as I usually handle the real thing.
And please post a photo of the finished artwork. Good luck! Joe

Hi, Tom, and welcome to the forums! I don't know if this will help you or not but here is an exploded view:

Tom - Please watch for an e-mail from me. I found some nice pics of a Remington revolver from various angles but I'm unable to post them here. 0 -
Thanks, Guys. I appreciate the items you posted.
I'll be sure to post the finished piece. But, if it anything is like my Springfield 45-70 rifle, don't wait up for it. This is gonna take awhile! :-)
If people are interested in a closer look at the rifle. Let me know, I can take some more detailed photos. The big problem is that it is...well...big. Just a tad over 51" long.
