I think that you have hit the proverbial nail right on the head! Start at a fair price, or as in my case when I list, either $.99 or about 1/2 of what I think that the item is worth. Many here will not even look at "Reserve" auctions ffor the same reasons you mentioned. But "it is what it is......"

I like it when the say "don't ask what the reserve is". Its a foolish game.

Trying to convince sellers not to use reserve auctions is like trying to tell liberals to respect the 2nd Amendment.

    It's a lost cause. [:(]

No rocket science involved here. This is their personal property, if they want to set a reserve on it, so it don't get stolen, that's there prerogative. If you don't like reserve auctions and won't bid on them, that's your prerogative. Whining about it on the experts forum, ain't going to make a bit of difference.

Seems the only one whining is you. If you dont want the gun stolen set the price where you want it to start, get it?

This topic does not belong on the Ask The Experts forum... it is a GD topic.

Not to be disagreeable, but it doesn't belong on General Discussion either. This topic has been discussed many times. Do a search.
