Stock ID ... P1917 Enfield? Is it sporterized?
I have this old stock I was thinking of putting up on GB. IT's in decent shape with some proof marks. Is it for a P1917 Enfield? It looked like it from pictures I have in an old copy of small arms of the world.

Next thing, has it been sporterized or cut at the end? It's got this extra piece with it.

Finally, this piece doesn't appear to be for this stock. Any idea on what type of rifle it's for?

well, first for the nit pickers, there isn't anything called a "p-1917"; it's a 'model of 1917'. now for your stock, yes it has had the end cut off (also cutting the value by about 90%, now about $10), the hand guard does appear to be original and worth $10/20+-. 0 -
Thanks for the reply. I kind of thought it had been hacked. Too bad! 0
