Tri Star O/U misfires
The top barrel on my Tri Star O/U misfires about 1 time in 25. I looked closely at it and you can clearly see a dent in the hammer where the hammer strikes the firing pin. Is there any quick fix that I can do at home? Can I grind the face of the hammer creating clearance for the hammer to strike further. Grind the face of the hammer flush with the dent? What I'm seeing is that the hammer strikes not only the firing pin but also the surrounding metal of the receiver. I'd like to file the hammer where it strikes the receiver. This will give more clearance for the unfilled part of the hammer to drive the pin forward. Can I replace the spring so it strikes harder. Any ideas? Thanks

Still in the 5yr Warranty?
Mess with it and it won't be. Send it back.

I purchased it used on gunbroker. I don't have a receipt. I have no idea how old it is or if the warranty covers used guns 0 -
I would try contacting them at that link, and see what they say, before I went at it with a file.
Don't forget to mention the great positive thread about their service, that you'll post on the numerous gun forums you frequent.[;)]0
