Wires crossed between FFL and NFA. Your statement is mirror-imaging typical FFL procedure, not NFA.

NFA procedure in any state is all about acquisition. After the acquisition by 'John Q. Public', the Fed's are done with it, and done with you. No one is going to check up on you..unless they are on a rust patrol. Good luck with your new [NFA] status! Best, Joe

Please tell me WHERE it says ANYONE has the right to inspect your privately owned NFA items anytime they want. On top of that ONLY the ATF has the right to see your Form 1 or 4 (depending on what you do) since it is a legal TAX document.

Owning NFA firearms you do not give up ANY rights including your 4th amendment rights.

As an 01 FFL a dealer, at his place of business, is open for a yearly inspection.

If you read the NFA FAQ above it will link you directly to the ATF NFA handbook which IS the laws of NFA. There are also state links so you can find out the laws in your state.
