It is not marked 19 in the crane. the serial number is on the bottom of the grip. sn-k791622. its a round butt. taget hammer target trigger " trigger is not serreted" The question is when i list this gun should it be listed as a 19 or a pre 19, or what the heck is it? Assuming its a Smith and the serial number is correct, the gun should be marked with a model number as it was made in 1968, 11 years after Smith began using model numbers.
The model 19 was made with 2 1/2" barrels, not 2".
This is my 2 1/2" nickel model 19. Does it look like this....?

Jimmy, You have a 2 1/2" nickel model 19-3 that someone forgot to stamp the model number onto. Somewhat unusual as they seldom forget that. The grips are correct for that gun.
Oh yeh, nice work on the pictures.0 -
thanks i know you guys fuss about no pics and vaige questions lol 0 -
Nice pic.
A sort of obvious clue is that the orange ramp sight insert wasn't available at the time of the "pre" model number Smith guns. It had to be either added later, or part of a later model gun.0 -
"Viage" questions? Yah, I got one: Does this have to do with ED? 0
