Russian TT-33 (Tokarev) NEW TOPIC

The previous post was already replied to 10 times, so I am starting this new topic.

There is import stamping on the left side of the frame which says "Russian 7.62 x 25" and importer. On the left side of the frame it's dated 1946. It has had a safety installed also. The grips do have the CCCP around the star, and I can purchase for about $275.00 "out the door".

Does it still seem to be as good a deal as it seemed from my previous post?

    MOONED.....sounds like a good deal to me. Powerful round that is fun to shoot. Russian Tok's are usually the best and for the price it is a cheap shoot. Go for it!

    I do like the round, having had a couple of CZ52's. Definately turns heads from by-standers when shooting.

    Reckon there is a collectable value to this particular one due to the import marks & safety though? I try to collect what will retain and hopefully increase in value. Still, at $275.00 a decent buy even as a shooter I guess.....

    Not much in the way of collector value, at this point in time. With the manual safety added. If the bore is descent and the mag appears to be original, $275 isn't unreasonable.

    Being it was taken apart to add the manual safety there is always the possibility that the hammer /sear package has been replaced. It's been many years since I've owned a Russian Toke but I believe that the hammer/sear assembly were numbered to the frame. See If the guy will let you take it apart to check on this.

    Pictures are not a possibility and disassembly cannot be accomplished either. It's at a local store that I have not done business with before.

    Thanks all for the replies. I have found some nice things at local stores on occasion, but you can't win them all.....I'll take a pass on this one.

    I wouldn't be concerned with the fire control assembly if the hammer notches and the safety work
    The Polish and Bulgarian Tokarevs have a trigger block safety not involving the FC assembly while the Chinese have a sear block safety in which a groove is cut in the FC housing to access the sear by the rear mounted safety.
    I would expect the Russian to have the European retrofited safety.
    If the safety is forward near the mag catch, it' a trigger blocking safety that doesn't interfere with the FC housing or parts.
    The FC unit should be numbered to the frame but that's academic (except to a collector) if it fits and functions properly.
