Norinco 56s AK Stock Change-HELP!!
I'm trying to install a bakelite side-folding stock on my Norinco 56S and ran into a problem...the piece that holds the wood stock in is pinned into the rear of the receiver, and it needs to come out to install the folder. Anyone know how these pins come out? they are capped on both sides and don't want to move, and I don't want to mar up my gun trying stupid things. Any tips? thank you in advance for any help[;)]

The piece you are referring to is called the rear trunnion and it is held in with rivets.
I'm not completely sure if you need to remove the trunnion or not. Someone smarter than me will come along soon and let us know for sure.0 -
Rivets make sense, but the folding stock has a built in trunnion, thus needing the existing one to be removed. Would the rivets have to be drilled out then new ones fastened? If so I'll take it to my local gunsmith. Thanks again!! 0 -
Don't forget that you are now "assembling" the gun, so you'll have to pay attention to 922r compliance parts... 0 -
Since your new stock has a trunnion with it you could drill out the old rivets and get a screw kit to install the new one thus eliminating the need for special tools to do the rivets. 0
