    The piece you are referring to is called the rear trunnion and it is held in with rivets.

    I'm not completely sure if you need to remove the trunnion or not. Someone smarter than me will come along soon and let us know for sure.

    Rivets make sense, but the folding stock has a built in trunnion, thus needing the existing one to be removed. Would the rivets have to be drilled out then new ones fastened? If so I'll take it to my local gunsmith. Thanks again!!

    Don't forget that you are now "assembling" the gun, so you'll have to pay attention to 922r compliance parts...

    Since your new stock has a trunnion with it you could drill out the old rivets and get a screw kit to install the new one thus eliminating the need for special tools to do the rivets.
