Does anyone know if the Birdsong company is still operating since Mr. Birdsong passed away last summer. I need to get several guns done in Black T. Don't advise to have another process as this is the thinner and best process I know of. Thanks. Post here or send me an email.

    This is the exact reason to have someone advise another finish. Just because it is the best and thinner process you know of, doesn't mean it is. Open up to some suggestions maybe.

    I know of many more processed but this is the one I am looking for. Seems that the swat teams and the government agencies including the military thought it was the best. But I want it applied to my guns because this is what I want. My question is simply, is the Birdsong Company still operating? Only looking for this information.

    I did not notice any disruption of service.

    And I quote:

    "Mr. Birdsong unfortunately passed away in July, 2009, after a brief illness. His legacy of producing one of the finest metal finishes will be continued as his sons, who have always worked in the business, will operate and provide the same high quality, high performance and attractive product that Mr. Birdsong was known for."

    I have been refinishing firearms for 16 years.

    I've tried teflon, moly, dura, cera etc...ad nauseum.

    Nothing, for the time concious beats moly over park, unless you go to something like chrome plating.

    Refinished some Black T stuff, looked green like liquorice in the sun.

    Plus, the teflon has to be agitated and kept in suspension, because (like CLP) it's heavy and settles out. Sometimes I have to help my kids with their schoolwork or get caught up in conversations with customers or friends.
