AK-47 scope
Hello everyone! I am in need of advice.
I have a Romanian WASR-10 that I have upgraded several times.
Had a UTG aluminum quad rail that I just sold here bc it was a little heavy, and I swapped my side folder collapsible stock (still for sale here) for a new Mako with the shock absorber.
I love everything about it except for this one thing... the scope.
I've got the side rail for scope mount and I've got the curl over mount, but, it blocks my iron sights and that's the first thing I do not like.
I had a 4 power scope mounted but like I said, no back up sights, and an AK isn't accurate enough for a 4x scope in my opinion.
Bought a Bushnell t-reticle red/green dot that I am ok with (has iron sights on top) but with it mounted on the curl over rail it adds too much weight and is a little too high for me to be comfortable with.
I know a flat top AR would be my best configuration, but I would like to have a red dot or reflex/holo on the AK that is workable/comfortable.
The bushnell won't mount on the front quad rail correctly (sights are way too high) and I have looked at the dust cover rails but I do not want to have to re-zero my scope every time I take the dust cover off to clean the rifle.
I guess what I am looking for is a good reflex/holographic scope for the front rail of an AK that's not going to cost $350 or more. (that's almost what I paid for a cheap/reliable rifle to begin with)
Anyone have any suggestions?

I think that the Kobra solves most problems and it mounts quite easily on the side rail. I really don't care for top cover AK mounts since the top cover is generally not very stable and won't provide a solid mount.

Sorry about your dilemma I guess I have a similar set up to what you don't like. I disagree with the Bushnell adding to much weight and that it is to high. Nearly any rifle that has a scope over iron sights is going to be high. My fat cheek cradles the stock just perfectly. If you thought the Bushnell sight didn't work, any other mount that allows you to see the irons sights will be higher then what you had. What you want to do would nearly raise the sight about an inch higher than what you had. This would lift you chin/cheek entirely off the rifle without some form of cheek rest. These guns weren't really intended to be scoped but some one decided to put rails on them anyway. I wish you luck.

1st time was ok but now you're starting to troll, keep it up... I personally would not waste my hard earned $ on Crapco AK mags when quality Bulgarian & Polish polymer mags are readily available.

An Ultimak mount and a red dot scope makes for very fast target acquisition and allows shooting with both eyes open.
The AK side mount and scope make for a bulky mess.0 -
I have done a few different things with scope mounting AKS.
This one requires a side rail bracket, these are probably the best side brackets available.

TWS, I got one of these with the flip up peep, it works great for me. It doesnt require a side rail bracket, but the ak has to have a standard non folding stock trunion.
