I need help with a gun.

I was given a little .22 Pistol. On one side it says, Made in Italy. On the second side it says, Model 1966 .22 It also has the marks rTs on the grips and near the grips. Anyway, I tried shooting it, and I couldn't get any of my .22 ammunition to fit into the cylinder. Any ideas what make it is, and why it won't fit any of my ammunition?

    Could be it is a .22 Short or .22 Long and not .22 Long Rifle and thats why the ammo you are trying to put in won't fit.

    I've tried, short, regular, and long. The thing is that the actual bullet is too thick for the cylinder.

    It's either chambered for .22 shorts or CB cap type blanks. Never seen one from Italy but a number of similar pistols were made in what was then West Germany during the 50's to 70's time frame, i.e. inexpensive mostly made with potmetal frames never intended for .22 LR type ammo.

    If it won't take shorts then it's chambered for the CB caps. They were made in many different flavors over there besides the blanks, their were tear gas and flash bangs also. As the barrels weren't rifled they couldn't be legally imported into the U.S. That's why there so seldomly seen over here. It probably came in in the bottom of somebodys suitcase without customs knowing about it.

    It appears to be a starter pistol which would only fire blanks.

    oddball7465......Spider has nailed it...starter pistol that uses blanks. Fired many a one at track meets.
