Have SP1 AR-15 with serial number SP 90423 ..Any ideas when she was made guys ?

  late production, after 1978...guessing 1980does it have the birdcage flashider and the trapdoor in the buttstock for the cleaning kit?

  Starting Serial number at the beginning of:
  
  1976 is SP55301
  
  1977 is SP67651
  
  1978 is SP83400
  
  Last year I have is the start of 1978. Using approx. fifteen thousand/year, and extrapolating forward, late '78/early '79 should be 'right in there'.
  
  Definately Pre AWB By Date Of Manufacture. (I know you are looking for that, as you sell in NY). Best, Joe

  You can also call colt they will tell you when it was made.[:D]
