H&K model VP70Z...any good???
I saw one at pawn shop. Very hard beat . Must have rusted and someone put to wire wheel . Very pitted slide, etc.
If it shoots well , what would it be worth(Approx.??) ..Maybe 2-400.00?

Interesting pistols but never all that popular. Most of the examples I see are in very good or better condition and sell in the $400-500 range so $400 for a beat to hell example seems way out of line. $200? Maybe, but I hate buying a really beat up example of any pistol that is not really pleasant to shoot (it is big, awkward and the trigger pull is super heavy) because you'll have a very hard time ever selling it. How many magazines come with the pistol because the magazines are not easy to find and pricey when you do.

I have this pistol.
The sights are unique, shadow technology or smoething like that.
It's like shooting a 18 shot DAO revolver in a way.
I got mine LNIB w/all, plus 3 extra mags & a holster at a great price.
I'd sell it at the right price, but it's really more of a novelty piece IMHO.
I'd pass unless you REALLY want the gun

Mark,
1 mag. comes w/ gun.
It looks very pitted and really a wire wheel has it nice and shiney.
I see what you mean about the DAO. Very long , slow and hard to squeese off rounds. Thanks much to and for both replys! Steve0 -
I had one years ago, I got it NIB in a trade. It was extremely accurate but the trigger was so bad you couldn't get through a mag without using two fingers on the trigger. For S & G i checked the trigger pull with a jury rigged trigger pull gauge, it was 17+ pounds. Like Mark said, I managed to get rid of it finally for $400 something? 0 -
I bought one in late 1988 like new in the box w/test target for
225.oo then SHTF in '89' if you know what i mean sold it for 800.00. i still have the test target for it[:D][:D] never shot it but was a good money maker[8D][;)]0 -
The Vollautomatische Pistole is still, 40 years later, pretty cool.
The trigger issues can be mitigated with some polishing and the replacement striker spring from Wolff. It's a very easy fix too.
Since the slides are parkerized, fixing the finish isn't too tough either.
Heel catch magazine...sucks. Since the thing was meant to be a machine pistol the rifling is probably the deepest you'll ever see on any firearm. This results in some blowby as well. It's a straight blowback gun, no locked breech. But it is pretty accurate and well ahead of it's time.0 -

I installed the Wolff replacement spring on mine. It didn't make a whole heck of a lot of difference, IMHO. The trigger pull was still a b**ch.0
